Florilegium is a conservation initiative integrating art, education and tourism in the Andean páramo. Through artistic botanical documentation and a commitment to sustainability, the project, developed at Chilcabamba Moutain Lodge, invites travelers to experience the beauty of the Cotopaxi region while fostering a deeper appreciation for the environment.
Florilegium was born from the artistic botanical illustration of ten species of native páramo plants found in our garden.
These scientific illustrations have been carefully developed, and each one inspires the décor of one of our rooms at Chilcabamba Mountain Lodge. Each room been renamed to celebrate one of the plants and showcases beautiful touches inspired by the plant they represent. It’s another way we celebrate biodiversity and tell a story of conservation at the lodge.
We invite our guests to take home a piece of this beautiful artistic experience while becoming active contributors to the protection of the Andean páramo. 1% of each purchase of our thoughtfully designed products supports the conservation of native flora and helps sustain the ecological balance of this majestic and unique landscape.
