We’ve been running Chilcabamba for almost 10 years now, and we feel lucky to work with such a kind and committed team. Managing a mountain lodge in Cotopaxi means being involved in everything — from planning our guests’ visits to making sure every little detail is just right. Every day is different, and that keeps it exciting.

Some grew up here, others came from nearby regions, but all share the same goal: making you feel at home in the high Andes.
José
José has been with us for over a decade, and there's no corner of the kitchen or guesthouse he doesn't know. His quiet humor and big heart make everyone feel welcome. Guests love how he always has a smile — and a great meal — ready.
Jesica
Jesica is the first friendly face many of our guests meet. She handles bookings and welcomes each traveler with care. Her calm and organized way of working helps everything flow smoothly, even during the busiest days.
PAOLA
Paola is part of our housekeeping team and makes sure your room feels like home. She’s always happy to share stories about the páramo and knows the Cotopaxi sunrises like the back of her hand.
Jonathan
Jonathan is our youngest team member and full of energy. He’s in charge of the cabins and common areas, always making sure everything is tidy. His upbeat attitude keeps the whole lodge smiling.

Eduardo is our cook and the master behind our local flavors. He knows how to turn simple ingredients into comforting dishes that warm you up after a day outdoors. Ask him about his favorite Ecuadorian recipes!
KAREN
Karen keeps our guest areas spotless and cozy. She's also great at making everyone feel seen — always offering a kind word or a big smile. You can often find her humming while working!

Patricio leads trekking tours to Rumiñahui and Cotopaxi. With a calm presence and deep love for the mountains, he’s always ready to share a good story or a hidden viewpoint.

Patricio is our local guide for trekking tours to Rumiñahui as well as for visits to Cotopaxi National Park. He knows the area like the back of his hand and loves to share his knowledge and adventures.
Fabián
Fabián, our neighbor and nature lover, cares for the plants and green spaces around the lodge. He knows the páramo like few others and enjoys showing guests the beauty of native plants and wildlife.
